It's Coming To Something When .....

Thu Nov 6, 2008, 2:43 AM
  • Mood: Psychotic
  • Listening to: Rockscar - KIK.
  • Reading: The Riot Act.
  • Watching: The leaves falling.
  • Playing: No time to play!
  • Eating: Coffee.
  • Drinking: Coffee with a water seasoning.
It seems to be pretty much a given thing here in the 51st State that the newly elected American El Presidente will be assasinated within six months ............:(

Hollywood must be working the poor underpaid movie script writers to the knuckles .............. God help us, I see Will Smith in yet another Hollywood crapolla fest! Still, at least the cretins won't be bastardising yet another classic British film while they're busy trying to wring every dollar out of this one!;)

Where's the wonder gone at this marvellous and historical turn of events? The first 'nearly' black president of the US of A. I think I see now why Michael Jackson was buried so effectively, competition perhaps?

I see great change and turmoil ahead but then I am nothing if not a realist. Let's just hope that the inevitable issues at home aren't buried under more 'arse kicking' in foreign climes.

Of course, the world missed the 'apetiser' to this event ....... the fact that there's now an unelected Scotsman at the head of English parliament .................... Total devolution now please.

Cynical? Me? ....... I'm just trying to get to grips with the bigger picture. When it comes to world politics, nothing is out of bounds so it seems.

And on a lighter note .........

I have apologies to make! And I NEVER apologise for anything .... EVER!

I have been away for some time. Well, not totally as I have had the occasional mooch around Deviantart.

The reasons are two fold.

Firstly, I get really impatient with this 'improved' Deviantart. Is it just me that finds it a slow, cumbersome beast? I'm torn between the 'life's too short to wait for this to load' and the great payoff in quality art ............ there's a comment on life there somewhere.

Secondly, I have been bogged down with other stuff. I had a lot of work to do on my house to avoid greater problems in the future and I haven't finished by a long shot ............ At least it won't fall down on our heads this Winter and further work isn't really an option whilst the weather is so inclement during the Winter months.
Erm, I have gotten involved in other projects in the meantime (nothing really suitable for here alas!). I will now have some time however to nose about and see what fine work I have been missing. I hope to be doing some drawing over the Winter months as well!

My apology then is for ignoring all of your Deviations. I will be checking out your sites and faving stuff, I sincerely promise. What amazes me is that I have any watchers left at all!

I do hope that I haven't offended anyone here. If I have, well, as the participants on the Jerry Springer show used to say 'Talk to the hand ...........'

Best

John.

I need more bodies to populate later pages of my graphic novel project, Road To Nowhere.

It occurred to me that this would be a great opportunity for me to steal some souls on DA (only joking, it's virgins blood for me and there's none to be had around here!).

Anyway, if anyone wants to take part, make a guest appearance on a panel or two or to be made dead on paper, please send me some photos of yourselves.

I'm not looking for shots of you mugging for vogue or anything risque (nothing continental style - no front door mat, meat and two veg or beaver shots!).

What I'm after are snaps, you know, the ones that don't catch you with a full faced cheesy grin. I want the ones that catch you a little off guard ............... your bog standard everyday snaps (not the ones that your grandparents take of the top 1/4 of your head, their own feet or fingers!).

If your interested send me a note and I'll note you back with my Email address to send the pics to and I'll copy you into the finished panels when done. I'll also credit you on the finished novel by real name or user name (however you wish).

End of transmission.

Feel the love.

John.

My very talented pal Jacob has posted an interview with yours trully (oh, the poor misguided man) in his journal here:

So, if you want to find out what makes me tick, how I manage to turn cheap crap into ....... erm, more cheap crap (you can't make silk purse out of a sows ear. No you can't but, you can make a sows ear out of a silk purse ............. !).

Anyway, if you want to be bored, amazed, scared witless (I said WITLESS!), amused by my bad spelling/grammar ................ whatever, take a look.

Oh, and I tried to give a plug to some deviants I admire who have less than 1000 page views. Please take the hint and check em out. DO IT.

Ahh, the horror of it all.

John.

I have managed to get my act together this week and have set up a DA page for my late sisters artwork.

Please check out the page as my sister was no self publicist (not a media whore like me!)and I really feel that the artwork she has left behind deserves to be seen.

Here's the address:

Best wishes and thanks to all.

My beloved younger sister Karen died on Tuesday evening. She was 39 and had been battling cancer (Hodgkins) since the age of 15. I was with her at the end.

That's no life for a person. Years of hospital visits, debilitating treatments, infections, sickness & pain. She was monumentaly brave. I don't know how she coped or kept going for so long.

There cannot possibly be a benevolent god but then I guess I've always known that anyway.

Now I have the task of deconstructing her life. Sorting out the paperwork, notifying everyone ................... clearing out her flat.

I've been there before two years ago with my Mum who went at 58.

So, I guess you could say that the rug has been pulled out from under my feet and my motivation is gone (It surprises me just how big a part of my motivation was about making my parents and siblings proud, amazed ....... shocked).

I have a lot to be doing so I will be taking a break from DA for a while.

Until I've worked some stuff out then, take care all.
